Historically it was suggested that cannabis caused hysteria/psychosis. DA (dopamine) sensitivities were the likely cause due to a merely statistical correlation of cannabis and psychosis. Correlation doesnt suggest causation though! Current scientific research from cambridge has discredited this entirely, having found nothing to suggest this is the case.

 

What is most informative is the current research that identifies the purpose of the cb1 and cb2 receptor sites in the body. It has been discovered that if it wasnt for endogenous cannabinoids that plug into these receptor-sites in breast milk during post and pre-natal development the foetus/baby would not develop as it would not feed. Not only is this the case, but cancer-cells in vitro and in vivo have been found to cause what is called 'apoptosis' programmed cell death of the cancer cells.

If you have heard of any breaking news of research relating to the therapeutic uses of cannabis please contribute accordingly.

Spread the word. Cannabis can cure cancer, alleviate anxiety, depression and epileptic seizures and endogenous cannabinoids have a role in brain development. Cannabinoids can be used for chronic pain management.

I speculate that in the future exogenous cannabinoids will be utilised like vitamins to assist the body in creating balance/stability as a preventative medicine. Cannabis causes homeostasis in cells. Balance. order.

I hope that this thread grows/expands as the wonders of cannabis are finally realised.

What i was supposed to say was that exogenous cannabinoids cause apoptosis in cancerous cells/tumors. Which is known as a process of 'programmed cell death', whatever ... i was rushing.
