Heat stress or strain characteristics?

Hey guys,

I have a couple of girls 6 weeks into flower that all look this this, their flowers have so many leaves and arent big and bulky, i'm considering heat stress as i can now see a little leaf upwards curling.

I've never seen this type of growth before (and the lack of bulk for age). Could anyone drop in and confirm my suspicions?

The leafy-ness is a strain characteristic, the curling might be from heat... I can't see any over feeding, if they had too much nitrogen I would expect them to be a much darker green than I see in the pictures.

A few questions...

What is the strain?

How hot has it been during the grow?

Is that 6 wks flowering or 6wks since you swapped to 12/12?

What are they getting for feed?

What sort of medium are they planted in?

Thanks Daily.

Lou,

It's supposed to be Super Silver Haze, if it is then I have the fat leafed pheno.

Temps only up to around 33-34C at canopy for a less than a week- with good airflow & exhaust (I just left the cooltubes a little low).

Thats 6 weeks after turning to 12/12

They are fed Vitalink Flower a+b, EC: 2.0 PH: 6.0 - 6.1 at the moment. Last week (week 5) they also recieved Canna's PK 13/14 at the directed dose for 7 days. I've always had good results with this brand.

The're feed THC branded silica, CX express regearoot, oxiplus and a little Nutriboost - all at recommended dosages.

Planted in 18L pots in Nutrifields 70/30 coco/perlite mix.

Lou, I've never had a strain like this before - it doesnt look like the SSH photo's online at all.

Thank's heaps for taking a look,

Thanks Kodama,

Hmmm.... yeah, you seem to have things covered there... apart from trying to get the temperature down a few degrees, I don't think there is anything I can suggest.

In terms of the time in flower... yeah haze crosses are slower to mature than indica doms... it might just need another 6wks in flower. Any chance of pictures that show the whole plant... pics of just tops can be deceptive.

When they first started flowering what ec were you feeding them? how often do you feed them @ 2.0 ? When you fed them pk 13/14 were you feeding them full strength nutrient solution (@ 2.0) ?

Do you ever feed them straight water or straight additives only? Have you attempted to gauge the salt buildup in the medium by assessing the run-off; EC and ph ? What strength was the vege nutes? Would like to see the biomass of the plants to assess vegetative growth pattern. Take a photo of a plant that you feel is achieving poorly.
