Amnsesia Haze, Outdoor Soil Grow, Perth

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

This is my first grow. I'm really excited to watch and learn through the process and any harvest will be a great bonus :)

I have an Amnesia Haze and a Freeze Berry Auto i'd like to grow outside.

Currently getting 11+ hours of sunlight a day. I hope this will be enough! It will increase over the coming months.

I'm going to germinate the seed right off in the pot bucket i'm going to grow it in.

I plan on using soil, something i can purchase from Bunnings.

I'm thinking of using a simple seedling soil to start at the top of the bucket above the main soil filled below. I have noticed Osmocote Premium being recommended with a mix of Perlite for the main mix.

Can anybody comment on the suitability of this or offer any other off the shelf recommendations?

Should i condition the Soil with any Seasol to start with etc? I haven't decided which Nutes to use just yet. Possible the Canna or even some Miracle Grow etc. Any suggestions suitable for an outdoor soil grow appreciated.

Thanks Guys!

All advice appreciated! Looking forward to starting, just looking to get some advice on how to best go about it  :thankyou:

Hey Mrauto,

Good luck with your first grow.

If the Amnesia Haze is a regular seed you may want to wait a while before planting - it is a long outdoor season ahead and the plant will need a huge pot to do justice to starting so early, that is if it doesn't go into flower with the short days and then try and reveg as the days grow longer.

I've done autos in soil in the ground in the middle of summer (long daylight hours) and they were less than impressive. The perlite would be a excellent addition to lighten the soil mix for the auto.  But at this time of year with such short days, don't expect much in the way of yield.  Autos perform best when they get lots of light hours to grow.

Definitely the Seasol...

That said, if you are using this as a way to get some experience without much attachment to the outcome, then this is an excellent idea and all the best with it.

We have had a bit of a stormy start to spring here in Perth so just keep an eye on them! I know i am with my babies.

For my outdoor grows i like to mix a bag of organic potting mix (cheap stuff is fine) with about 20% perlite and away you go! Dont over complicate it!

Now fertilizers r completely up to you. But iv become attached to the liquid nutes i pick up from my local hydroponics shop (using Nulifes Bush Master this season).

Good luck with the grow bro
