Hi Brick I forgot to mention tell your friend to try the hemp seed oil as well It's a lot better than the fish oil,It has a hell of a lot more goodies in it than the fish oil.

Regards,Dingo-2008.

Good idea Dingo! I shall try hemp oil myself, I'm intolerant to fish oil (tried all the different brands too, incl naturopath stuff).

Absolutely.

Marijuana helps ease the symptoms of Auto Immune Disease due to it's calming, anti inflammatory and anti spasmodic effects.

Also it's been said, Marijuana suppresses the immune system (which is what you want in AI disease!). Not to the extent of prednisone steroids though etc (which are totally nasty!). In AI disease the immune system is hyperactive and attacking it's own healthy tissue.  So it needs to be 'calmed' down and regulated.

I have a disorder in AI nature but we don't know exactly what it is yes.  A form of dry eyes and arthritis with some AI markers. MJ helps more than all the drugs I take. It's like a multi-action drug!

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. She is very lucky she has a great friend like you who is supportive :). Having a chronic illness is tough alone, it's great you're taking the initiative and looking out for her! Your friend would highly benefit from trying the green and natural medicine. I'm not saying she should stop her pharmaceutical medicine, that would be stupidity! I really hope she gets some relief soon!

It isn't so much SUPRESSION of the immune system as it is modulation. Herbalists call substances that adjust the bodies system to the RIGHT balance, without either over-reving or supressing a system, "adaptogens".

In the case of autoimmune and autoinnflamitory diseases, both are strongly involved with the a number parts of the body and are strongly effected by the endocannabinoid system. As such, flooding the body with cannabinoids dramatically helps to rebalance the inflammitory system and the immune system. There are other things which can help on those fronts too, but nothing but cannabis (in high enough doses) seems to be able to do as much, as fast.

There are (for instance) strong cross-overs between "autoimmune and autoinnflamitory disease" and autism (and autism spectum disorders). Right now there are kids out there who NEVER spoke a word after their autism kicked in, but who started talking again after about 10 days of full cannabis oil therapy. Imagine seeing that as the parent of a "locked in" child, and then being told you are "abusive". I'm not just pulling that out of my ass. There is solid evidence of this.

The problem from the standpoint of the pharmaceutical companies is that cannabis is complex. It is a preexsting plane so they cannot own it outright without creating their own GMO version. The closest they could come, would be to produce a highly unique way of refining and balancing the cannabinoids (but natural medicine people have been doing that with "standardized extracts" for some time).

Pharmicuitical drugs are also the offsping of the "patent medicein" craze of the Victorian era. The Chemist/Pharmacists of the era mosty dealt with plant extracts, but there as so much money to be made ifyou could find a way to change "coal tar" (their favorite substance) into a medication that it became big business. There as a lot more cash to be made.

Another part of the issue is that nearly all pharmicuitical drugs are "simples" from the perspective of an herbalist. Herbalists deal in both simples and combinations. However pharmacy pretends to be "all about science" even though most of the tiem they have no clue why a given drug acts the way it does. They honeslty still have no idea why aspirin and panadol make codeine work so much better. AND *THAT*

. Cannabis has a complicated synergestic enterage effect between all the cannabinoids and terpines in the plant and you just CAN'T synthesize that. As a result, although all the pharmicuitical companies are investigating cannabis, and although even the National Cancer Institute in the USA has finally come straight out and said that cannabis oil kills cancer (and like nothing esle can) - the pharmicuitical companies are NOT making any "standarized cannabis extracts" from crops where the levels of all the cannabinoids are known. The only people testing for the cannabinoid levels are the compassion clubs and medical sales shops. This pretty much shows you who wants to HELP you get well, and who wants to make you into a long term customer.

I am so pleased to know that I have helped you an your friend Brick with info.

I found that the  White  Rhino  & Stoned Rhino from Celtic Stone seemed to work the best for me with my arthritic pain an nerve pain Nuro pain That I suffer badly from.

Plus any good indica dom strain with some sting in it.

Vaping the Bubble hash & Hash oil in the volcano was the best way for the cannabis or hash oil an bubble hash for me.

Vaping the goodies  had a instant effect on the pain for me plus the edibles worked as well,But the volcano seemed to have the best effect for me.

There is some good Sativa  Indica crosses out there as well.

But as you know Brick what works for me may not work for your friend,At least it will be fun for your friend trying out a few different strains to find 1 or 2 or more to help her with the pain.

All the best to you an your friend Brick. Oh an how is the ticker going now days mate,Hope is is well mate.

Regards,Dingo-2008.

I would agree with you in "strains for pain". Back when I was still able to move around enough that I was able to grow (years ago) we got the best relief from my own white widow cross (oh thank you you Shantibaba).

It was WhiteWidow-male x Superskunk-Female. This is pretty much the same thing as "Medicine Man" or "Great White Shark". I have read some promising things about "Purple Urkle", "Daddy Purp" and "Girl Scout Cookies" as info for pain control.

The ones that seem to work well have a high level of THC and High CBD (and CBN as well).

White Rhino has been tested and this link will give you the ability to search tested medical strains so you have a general clue as to what you MIGHT be getting form a given strain - but how the plants were treated and their specific genetics does matter so "your economy will vary"

( http://budgenius.com/search.html?tab=2&cmd=search&query=white+rhino&rating=&Thc9=0%25+-+30%25&Cbd=0%25+-+10%25&Cbn=0%25+-+10%25&location=&coordinates=&radius=1000)

If you use that web site you will see a graph next to the TESTED cannabinoid levels for each suppliers cannabis. The graph shows how effective the strain (as rated by users) was for various conditions. I find the correlations between the cannabinoid levels and those "user reports" to be quite interesting.    I seem to get the best pain relief from strains that are NOT just high in THC, but that have a fair amount of CBD and CBN as well, and the info on that site seems to verify that strains reported to be good for pain control do have high higher levels of CBD & CBN. I would love to see more data than that (more cannabinoids) as well as a terpine report.

Here are some averages on what is in the plant resins for what you were talking about (and what I mentioned)  just to give you some ideas

** White Rhino

THC : 15%-19%

CBD : averages at 0.44% but as high as .88% and as low as 0.19%

CBN : anywhere from .19% to .44%

** Purple Urcle

THC at around 15% to 17%

CBD (Cannabidiol) at about 0.2% to 0.3%

CBN (Cannabinol) at around 0.1%

So with this much variation from one plant to the next, it does matter where the genetics came from, and how the plant was cared for.

I just looked a "Girl Scout Cookies" which has had some positive pain relief reports. It has mid-high in VERY high THC (by modern standards) of about 13% to 23% (holy crap) with a CBD range about .3% to .6% with CBN averaging at roughly 0.22% but with some reporting as high as 0.55%

Hell, with that stuff I might be able to clean the house up some.
