senators give medical marijuana the green light - Australia

Recommended Posts

Nope, it wont misshepburn... Richard di Natale does not want to see us growing our own bud... he's a gp by trade and he wants what you would expect from someone with that sort of trade background... pharmaceutical grade meds governed and dispensed the way other medications are governed and dispensed.

So if your idea of legal cannabis involves going to your gp for a referral to a specialist who then prescribes something akin to Nabiximols... then yep, this is the model Richard favours. It will be fine for those who can afford to pay the enormous price asked for cannabis when it is packaged as Sativex, but mean nadda for everyone else.

Richard does not support home growing, using raw herbal cannabis, or home processing of raw cannabis.

This is pretty much what I've been warning everyone about, legalization is just as bad as prohibition for those of us who grow for themselves, highly doubtful we'll get a similar market to the rest of the world, our money grubbing corps will be onto it like a fly to horse shit before 'the people' will get a chance.

I still see it being illegal to home grow and that never changing(in this country anyway) as there's no money in letting the people medicate themselves.

Our government(and alot of their affiliates) isn't interested in helping the Aussie people, it's interested in how much money's in their pocket :(

Anyone who says they want to help people, but doesn't offer free or extremely cheap aid, is not, about helping people.(I understand everything costs something, but I don't even charge the people I give tincture to for their illnesses and it costs quite a bit to produce)

Regardless it won't change a thing for me unless they let you grow your own cannabis at home. I would like to say I grow for medical reasons, and I'm sure later in life I will be using cannabis for medical reasons but as it stands, I just like to be stoned, I'd be lying to myself and you good folk if I claimed other wise. BUT I also find peace and enjoyment not just using cannabis but in growing it also. But imo it's all a step in the rite direction, it all starts with baby steps.

Then patients are still going to source raw bud for themselves!

I checked up the price of Sativex for MS patients, a month's supply costs them $1000!!

Also fewer sides with raw bud
