Understanding my seeds

Recommended Posts

So I've planted 4 Bonza seeds in one of those Jiffy seedling starter things.

The Bonza seeds aren't going well...surprise surprise.

It's been three weeks now and I barely have three seedlings with two leaves each. All max inch tall.

One sprouted its first serrated leaf but has since completely shrivelled up.

I'm at my wits end.

I spent $200 on seeds last year and have got nothing to show.

Bag seeds seem to just grow in basic potting mix. But the weed is always shit.

What am I doing wrong with these Bonza seeds? All the "stealth" drama and for what....

Don't even know what strain they are as the Bonza package broke and they all mixed up.

Any tips for fool proof seed raising of seed farm seeds? I don't want to miss the spring start again.

The jiffy pots are the problem, not the Bonza seeds. Unless you know exactly how moist to keep them, it is common for them to be too wet and cause "damping off" which kills your new seedling. The pH of the peat in the pellet can also cause problems.

Every one of my seeds from Bonza grew successfully.
