Berries and Veg Tenting \ Green House

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd share these and get pics of the green house tomorrow.

Got some strawberries from Bunnings, soil was crap and they were not producing so I repotted them in to my own soil mix and got rid of gnats they seem to have.

Put them in a tent with a 130w veg CFL and a 24w 5600k CFL

Had about 8 so far - very juicy and sweet. just water and a guano feed every now and then.

They seem happy :) post-46252-0-24730500-1434642872_thumb.jpg

Also kicked off veggies in the small seahawk tent - took 3-4 days for these to pop - meant to take a week.

they are in a 50/50 soil \coco mix, sitting on a heat tray with 4 x 24w T5 purple fluoros

Nice one Razz, interested to see how they go...

So far they are rocking - but might end up losing my second tent for the smaller one simply so she can have the summer veggies in there lol

Hey there Razz

did you know the natural home of strawberries is in the understory of trees

which means they like fungal dominance in the soil , mycorrhizal fungi  :yahoo:

if your in to do'in compost teas, Make It Fungi Baby

Got a good compost going - need worms tho :)

But thats cool - coz no - I didn't know that! :)

Love the berries idea , I was looking at doing them too , but also looking at blueberries and Goji Berries as there is some scientific data that show they are supposed to be good for the body .

Well the strawberries are going nuts!!  Have had over 15 ripe ones so far with heaps more coming and 4 massive bunches coming through.

All the seedlings come up two. I'll take pics tomorrow ;)
