iTiC
In another thread a grower was concerned that a camera flash might up set 'flowering'.I thought I'd post this here. There are two kinds of plants, long day and short day were, the length of the dark peroid is critical, If these plant experience a FLASH of RED during the dark cycle then they will flower or not flower depending on their make up.Cannabis is a short day plant for flowering, that is if the day is long the plant wont flower. The pix below show how this works; with a VERY exciting true to come out of this. Its all about the hormones. If you take the branch of one of the plants inside a tent; extend that outside the tent into the rest of a DARKEND room then the plant in the dark room will start to flower. crow
Interesting,... Thinking I could maybe use this to force a branch on my outdoors to flower early to determine whether it's going to any good or not. Instead of having to wait 6 months til the end if the outdoor season. Or even just to sex early as some of my outdoors seem to take up to 10 weeks to show pre-flowers.

I think there is some technique is splicing the branches, a bit like doing a graft. I also think that the out side plant needs to be in the dark, Im not sure how they pulled this off without, killing the plant slightly. maybe a week in the dark is long enough to get the hormones going? It might be worth diging up the original experiment.
