Nulife products

Recommended Posts

Hey gidday to you all,

I have just returned from the hydro shop and went there to buy oxyplus.

I tried Cannazym before and it was crap, It was bloody expensive, didnt go very far and actually didnt work very well.

I brought Bio bugs and these were good,But the shop didnt have any and he gave me the usual salesman pitch and I brought the Power active.

First impressions are good, as it takes 1ml per litre, and only has to be replaced everytime I change my water which is every 2 weeks.

Oxyplus to work has to be added every second day, cannazym is weekly and you use heaps like 150mls per 50 litres or something silly like that.

BUT has anyone used power active before?

also they have a root repair and another called stop wilt.

Anyone educate me about these products??

what do YOU use in your hydro system for the roots??

Sorry, never heard of that particular one, but I'm not one for many complex and so called "wonder" products in nutrient lines.

I use Pythoff, (monochloramine) during the early stages of growth in my perlite/clay balls recirc system, and I couldn't be happier. :) This too has to be added daily, or second daily for best results, but it's also been an effective curative for some sick plants, which I was very happy to see.

Good stuff in my humble opinion, but that's all it is. What exactly does this Power active actually contain or claim to do? I've used Nulife products before, and been very happy with the results, so I'd be interested to hear. ;)

Just wanted to add that i use pythoff aswell , 10ml to a 60lt tank of fresh nutes then 5ml per day = big fluffy white root mat.

Was going to buy stopwilt but went for rhizotonic , took clones 1 week ago (first time) , stuck em in some vermiculite i had , spray them daily , so far no wilting and they look real happy .

Supposed to be a very good stress reliever.

im using Power Active atm , i was using h202 before , but found adding i would forget to do it.

the water is a lot cleaner for me using Power active than when i was using h202.

from what i know , Nulife is from West Oz , the manufacturer would rather not sell his products than tell the world and get copied .

from what i understand its good bugs ,so it might be similar to BioBugs.

Poweractive looks and smells like some yeast extract , gives the water a slight yellow colour

Just worth noting here that,

I was told several times that pythoff ONLY kills certain problems but not many.

however I picked up some root accelerant last night and took home a brochure about Pythoff.

THis stuff looks good, real good. and a couple of things mentioned caught my attention.

  • It is a FULL spectrum disinfectant.
  • it is a monochloramine oxidant- bit like h202
  • it is not systemic, so the plant does not take it up and as such it can be considered Organic.
  • this is what is says about H202- H202 is sometimes used in hydroponics for increasing a nutrients oxygen concentration. It is not useful as a sterilising agaent in hydro because it is only effective as an oxident when the nutrients PH is around 1, which is far too low for plant growth. However, at PH values around 6, peroxide is both a weak oxident and weak reductant. Consequently, when the PH value of the nutrient is 6, peroxide is destroyed by monochloramide- simply because monochloramine is a much stronger oxident at the PH. Unfortunately however, because peroxide is normally dosed at 100 times the concentration of pythoff, all the pythoff will be consumed in this chemical reaction while only a small percentage of peroxide will be destroyed.

Im using nu life at the moment. i assumed it was similar to canazyme; which i found to expencive. i was using dutch master "gaurdian" b4 i was happy with that but benificial bacteria appealed more to me. i am also using nu life coco fertaliser.

so far im happy with both.

Power Active is a biological innoculant, afaik, supposed to be microlife which assist uptake of nutrients and release benificial substances for plants to use.

You should be aware that using any micro-life product you need to have something there for them to munch on, (sugar) and you won't be able to use products like oxyplus/pythoff/guardian as these will destroy them quick smart, defeating their purpose.

I use Bio Bugs myself, and find them most excellent indeed. I've seen the microlife resulting as well, which you should consider looking for in your nutrient water after dosing with any purported micro-life product.

Nu-life is a good company, you should consider checking out "AU60 root repair" by them as well, that's an item that a few people have been recommending to me.
