How to set up Carbon filter on outside of cabinet? Help please :)

for everyone i didnt mention.

 

I went to my local hydro shop yesterday and asked in person about setting up Phresh Filters to blow out of.

 

He gave me a foam filter to go inside and said, "there ya go, pull that out once every few months and wash it and ya filter will last at leat 2 years. Phresh filters are designed to push or pull apparently".

 

He has owned that hydro store for 18 years and is very reputable.

 

Tho, it still doesnt fix my space and stelth problem, so maybe will have to go with the contained box on the outside idea

Yup that's exactly what i was trying to get at, a sealed box that would act like it's in your grow box / tent

Cheap small storage container, cut hole in side big enough for filter( i found it easier to blowtorch and knife it), same as other end( size of your ducting or a bit smaller), silicone all together/ or tape on lid. hey ya know a good way to make holes in the sides of tubs??

 

milo tin on the stove, pick up with tea towel so you dont burn yourself and then hold on the side..... perfect round hole

how noisy is it and what type of fan is in the box?

you could always mount the fan on the outside of the box too either top or side.

if you don't have room inside for a big filter you can try an" ordor sok" I have a 100mm carbon filter on a extractor fan inside my tent and have the odor sok attached to the ducting outside the tent, so one filter being sucked through and one blown through(sounds a bit suss haha) absolutely no odor, works well, so they will suck and blow at the same time, I don't think this would work as well in reverse as the large carbon filter would have more resistance than the odor sok, by the way any you boys use them?

you think just an Odor Sok would be good enough for just vegetive smell? just for a mother and clones?

 my mate has a 3x3x2 tent chockas and uses odorsok both end of vent and no smell, they are good on the outside vent to eliminate the HOT AIR coming out the exhaust, also has a dampening effect on the vent, stops the drumming sound, this has been my experience. cheers.

The fans further up the ducting(wrapped in 2towels) on outside of flower tent sucking air from vented hood. Cheap ebay black 6" fan and growlush speed controller(a must for stealth). Speed controller is also running veg tent fan, which is one of those big pc fan things jammed inside the 6" ducting
