Liberal MP Mark Brindal has told South Australia's Parliament that he was once offered marijuana by a South Australian Magistrate.

Mr Brindal made the claim during debate on the bill to remove hydroponically grown marijuana from the cannabis expiation scheme.

"I have been to places, I repeat to this house, where a Magistrate offered me marijuana with a cup of coffee. It was some time ago, it was some time ago and that is a fact," he said

When asked if the Magistrate was still active in court, Mr Brindal said he honestly did not know.

Mr Brindal said he had tried marijuana, but also argued that so did many highly placed people.

While it was once thought to be harmless, it is now known that it is not.

This must be the same during a parliamentary debate and I think this guy may have lost it and the media may think so too...

Warning to cannabis smokers

MALE marijuana smokers risk damaging their testicles, while female cannabis users can harm their reproductive organs.

That was the warning from Speaker Peter Lewis yesterday during a parliamentary debate on a Bill to remove hydroponically grown cannabis from the expiation system.

The Bill, introduced by former Liberal police minister Robert Brokenshire, was passed with Government support and will now go to the Legislative Council.

But as the vote was about to be taken, Mr Lewis rose to speak.

"In plain terms, can I say to the fellows: if you want to rot your rocks, smoke pot," he said.

"And I say to the young women of this world: if you want to addle your eggs, go and smoke pot. Because that is exactly what you are doing.

"Anyone who thinks otherwise is a bloody fool. The evidence is incontrovertible."

Mr Lewis said the effects were worse than from the weedicides and pesticides of the 1960s and 1970s.

He said there was no doubt that if a genetically modified organism could be developed, it ought to be put into marijuana so that anyone using it would have "enormous headaches".

MPs in the chamber at the time said they were stunned by Mr Lewis's remarks, but not surprised.

The outspoken Speaker has made some amazing contributions to Parliamentary debate, including claiming to have shot dead his seriously injured best mate in the jungle in South-East Asia. He also said that in Macau, ducks were placed in hollow logs so people could use them for sexual gratification.

this really, imo, shows how socially accepted marijuana is these days, almost everyone smokes it, i'm getting my father into consuming it for unbearable pain relief as to alternatives for less effective, less usefull and convenient presciption drugs,,, and my old boy used to hate the shit ??? you tell me.
