DWC problems

thanks guys for your advice.

i like to flush every 7 days, just something i like doing.

i am just adding bloom nutes only now and plants have stopped growing.

white hairs have developed more and more, but little buds forming now, wish i had a digi cam so i can take pics and put them on here, but don't sorry. i will try and find some pics of other plants in the flowering stages so i you get a good idea of what my plants are like.

it's 6 weeks of flowering tomorrow. i know i have done something wrong along the line, as i said it is my first grow and i knew something was going to play up somewhere along the line, but not sure why buds aren't forming bigger.

leaves at the bottom have turned yellow and are dropping and dying, not many, only some, but they are small leaves anyway.

i tied them down very lightly, just to the side of the wardrobe. no chance of ties cutting into the stems.

It's not so much that the ties cut off stems, it's that the sap flow of the plants is on the outside of the stem, not the inside, so if it's too tight it can interrupt sap flow.

Sounds more like your lower leaves are just naturally dropping, this happens often in plants when in late flowering. Just remove them as they get close to dropping, and keep the growing space clean. You should do well mate, so keep up the good work.

Digicams are quite cheap nowadays too, I got mine a long time back for 200 bucks and that would only be a hundred or so now. It's all a matter of looking around and finding the best one for your job. <_<

Mate, I know you have a thick sheet over the cupboard, and I don't mean to hound you like one of my kids, but are you positively sure there's no light getting in?

Some-one said the white hairs ARE the buds, and this is right. But at 6 weeks, these white hairs have to be at least as chunky as your thumb. I suppose you realise just how dark it has to be? I've heard it said that you ought not be able to see your hand in front of your face at 30cm, but real night time darkness isnt quiet that dark. but it does have to be black.

If you're sure it isn't light, and it only has to be a single stream of light hitting the plant to stop it..what else is going on there that could be the problem?

Seems to me you're doing everything fine. The fact a few leaves are dropping is no biggie, it's a normal part of any annual to drop leaves as the plant flowers. It's simply geting ready to die. Annuals grow, flower, set seed, and die. drop their seeds, and go through it all again the next year.

You have the bubbler sussed out by the sound of things, have you got strong enough nutrient? What kind of light are you using?

BTW, I tie my plants down loosely with garden twine if they're going to hit the top while they're flowering. Using "ties" loosely placed on the branches is fine. don't ever cut branches, large or small within two weeks of comencing flowering until harvest. Of course, dont tie the ties tight.

Just be sure about the darkness. Get into the grow area, and shut everything down as if the plant is being left for it's "night period" and just see for yourself how dark it really is in there.

Apart from that, nutes, and light type are all you have to worry about really. Get those right, and it'll all happen for you.

good luck

rob

I put another blanket over the wardrobe last night and is completley covered.

The buds are just starting to form now and it is going into the 8th week of flowering.

Not sure. I cut out the base of the wardrobe to lower to tub into. So the 50LT tub is sitting on the concrete but still inside the wardrobe and no light is comming in from there.

i am using flairform BLOOM nutes and a 400W sont-agro light.

the buds are starting to come on now but are still very small. i am running out of options to speed them up as they should be finished tomorrow (8weeks). guess i just have to sit and wait and try and figure out where i stuffed up.

just a quick update on my plants.....

it's into the 9th week now of flowering and all the hairs are brown and leaves near the light are starting to turn a dark yellow.

the buds are very small, half the size of your pinky finger.

i just found out where i went wrong. i didn't add any 'super bud' or 'mosta bud' type nutes into the tub, apparently i was meant to add them week 3 but forgot all about them, i was just adding bloom nutes for the last 9 weeks of flowering.

has the flowering cycle finished?

can i save my plants?

what happens if i just start adding the monsta bud (?) nutes?

are my plants ready for harvest as there hardly any white hairs, most of them are brown, which means the crop is done?

any help right now would be much appreciated!!

thanks piperman. i will be harvesting asap, most likley tomorrow.

will clean up the tubs and replace the airstones/air pump (suprised they lasted 11 weeks!!) and fan as well.

will be growing again in a couple of weeks time. so i know what to look out for and i will get larger buds and a very good yeild.

Practice makes Perfect is my motto at the moment!

Thanks for everyones advice through out my grow and my next grow will be alot better and i will make sure i have a digi-cam.

Kelly.

I would listen to Pipeman, and just use A+B for the first few grows, its all you NEED.

I would then look at using something like nulifes weight plus, or dutch master potash or something similar.

However dont use anything that increases the buds until you have very good ventiltion as because of the density of the buds it can get mould in the middle of the buds really easily if the ventilation isnt perfect.

Using things like Silca eg Silika magic tend to increase bud weight, and help prevent nutrient and pest problems.

By far the best way of getting better buds is to buy good quality genetics to begin with. decent seeds are half the battle.
