Plants too big, How do I hide it?

Recommended Posts

What a great problem to have...

up near the top  (but not necessarily at the top) of the plant, somewhere where there is not really too bud-filled, find a place to tie a rope/string to it

but before tying anything to the main stalk, you need to cushion the area where the string/rope will be (you don't want the rope cutting into the stem after all)

take that rope and find something down low to anchor it to (put a heavy rock on it or tie to a Besser block etc)

you're trying to get the plant to go horizontal, but you need to do it slowly or you'll break the stem, you don't want to do that

slowly tighten the rope (to what ever you are anchoring it too) over a few days/weeks, the more you 'tighten' the lower the plant will go to the ground

you don't actually want it touching the ground btw

this will bring the plant down in height a bit, but because it is late in your grow, you need to be careful of the undo stress you are subjecting your plant to (by bending it)

stoner ramble now over

:)

Luck!

edited, spelling of course

How much height do you need to lose? Tie them down to stakes in the ground...if you lose your crop because someone saw how tall they were then you lose the lot..if however you are care full and not put too much stress on the plant when tying it down you should be fine but you will get some collateral damage to parts of the plant that is suddenly no longer in direct sunlight whereas other parts will benefit. Google the terms "LST cannabis" and you will get heaps of hits...if they are only aq month away then I wouldn't want to cut them. Good luck

Thanks for replying max and matunuska!

I thought about trying to train it but I thought it would be too late, I will get out there tomorrow morning with a ladder and some rope.

Ideally I would like to lose 2 ft but 1 would do, It is just starting to creep over the shed so it will be visible from out the front soon. I think they are about a month away I'm not 100% sure, the buds are formed but the 99% hairs are still white.

Sorry for my dodgy paint skills, If it gently tie it down where I've circled that should be ok?

Bit hard to say but just be careful and make sure you have some duct tape handy..if you do break a branch its not good but not he end of the world...use the tape to secure the break and it will be fine. Keeping it as stress free as possible is the key so maybe start high and bend slowly over the period of a few days giving the plant a chance to get used to each new position, you may need to tie it down in several places...take your time you will be fine

Nice monsters and awesome brick wall!

What Lou and Matti said.  I agree it will be really important to anchor the base of the trunk

I tried to LST my plants way too late [but still way earlier than you are] and I've inflicted serious damage on 5 out of the 6 even though I tried really hard to be careful and take it slow and easy.

Go easy and good luck.

What not to do!
