Good or Bad

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

Lights have just come on and for the 2nd night in a row i have found water droplets have been forming along the leaf edges during dark period.

Temp sits on 23c lights on and doesnt go under 15c lights off .

Humidity sits around 50% during lights on but i dont know what it is during dark period.

Is this a problem or will it cause problems?

Plants are still healthy as but if this will cause problems further down the track id like to fix it now.

Am in first week of 12/12 and am worried this could cause mould problems as buds form.

Thanks in advance

it sound like your humidity could be going up quite a bit at night time , you should invest 30 bucks on a thermometer and hydrometer with a min/ max function that way you can check it anytime and see what the highest and lowest temp and humidity where

if your humidity does get too high yes it can be bad and cause mould

If your humidity is too high get a second or bigger fan, if your watering during the dark period I would possibly stop or lessen that too

Hey Pure,

My room is approx 1.3m x 1.4m x 2.0h with a mistrall expressair(800cubic metres/hour) exhaust and a 250mm intake and mate it`s like a wind tunnel in there , even with the intake turned off during dark.

I noticed when i went in there as lights came on tonight , it felt like a fridge , was starting to think they were to cold and this was condensation , but the therm still recorded a min of 15c.

Didnt think id have humidity probs with the air exchange ive got , but yeah gotta get a hydrometer to be sure.

cheers.

Test it, you'll be surprised. Sounds like guttation, which is something greenhouse tomatoes can suffer from sometimes. I could talk about it here, but you should be able to find out some more about it from a quick search of a search engine. :D

But yeah, test the temps and hygro all the time, helps to have one which has high and low recording features as well.

Hey,

Well got myself a humidy guage with min/max this morning , lights dont come on till 6pm so ill stick it in tonight and ill know more tomorrow night .

Ive ducted the intake to aim at the floor of my GR (under canopy) instead of onto plants and stuck an osc fan 24/7 in there on tuesday . (intake is off when lights are off) .

The reason i didnt have an osc fan is the int fan works great as an osc fan , now i realise that no oscillation when lights are off = moisture = mould.

The water droplets along the edge of leaves have stopped appearing but ive noticed a couple of leaves have a bit of moisture on them when the lights come on. Might trim some big leaves for airflow as well .

Even If humidity levels are normal now , i reckon ill get a 2nd exhaust fan.

2 x 800m3/h should sort it , bloody paranoid now little budz are startin to form.

Thanks for the help all.

Hey ferengi

My exhaust runs 24/7 .

My inlet fan turns on and of with the lights , in fact the only reason i use the intake fan is to get the lamp that extra couple of inches to the tops of the plants otherwise i dont think its really needed.

Even without the int fan its still a wind tunnel in there and the temp dosent go above 25c at the top of the plants (600hps 30cm from tops).

Was scared the int fan would chill the plants if it ran with the lights off but i might let it go 24/7 now its not aimed directly at the plants and see if that helps the moisture problem.

Anyway ill get this humidy guage in there tonight to see whats happnin.

cheers
