Thrive

Recommended Posts

G'day, I saw some Thrive today at the shops, had a look on the back of the pack.. and I'm going to start using it as a foliar spray.. until I possibly get some Nitrozyme. The DutchFest nutes that I have are working brilliantly.. I'll stick with them for a few more grows, maybe get some other nutes after my first harvest and run two different nutes in the res's for the next grow. Anyway, I just wanted to know people's thoughts on using normal Thrive as a foliar spray.

I guess it's just the high amount of NPK in the mix, and it also contains trace elements.. I think it's somewhere near 40% NPK in the Thrive: all purpose. I just saw Yate's indoor Thrive, and it looks pretty good. Anyway.. here's some info:

NPK Analysis: 27 : 5.5 : 9 + trace elements

# Completely soluble.

# Fast acting.

# Suitable for use on all sorts of plants.

# A very rich fertiliser containing a total NPK of 41.5% which makes it richer than most other fertilisers on the market.

# Contains a finely blended formulation which does not separate out during transport so that the first spoonful is identical to the last.

# Absorbed by both foliage and roots.

# Contains vital trace elements such as iron.

foliar feeding hydroponic plants is pretty pointless.. its more an soil grower thing, and i dont reckon you should worry about it... focus on feeding the foliar light and co2, give em all the nutes to the roots.. saves getting burns on leaves off wet spots, nute burns, etc...

as for thrive, well its a good nutrient boost i guess, alot of Nitrogen in the shit... strong and easy to burn with... If your mind set on using the stuff as a foliar feed on a hydro plant, never mix more than 1/4 strength directions and dont turn lights on till plants are well and truelly dried.... any droplets will turn into instant crispy bits...a very "rich" fertilizer is no better for plants than a non rich fertilizer, you just use less of the richer one making it more economic, but also easier to make levels that can burn your plants....

Dutch Fest are a pretty good nute, its what i usually use.. one thing about the shit is it is the bloom is lacking nitrogen in a big way, and long flowering plants are too yellow even before the flush starts.. for plants wholl go longer i like to use 1/4 veg 3/4 bloom mix for first 2 weeks or so...

I've been using the Thrive as a drip system for the plants.. the two with the thrive have grown alot bushier, but bit more stretched I guess.. but with my strain thats good, the plants I have are small and bushy as hell. I'm actually thinking to change over to the Thrive as a veg for good.. but Im not sure.. I want to try something other than DutchFest.. it lack Nitrogen in the Grow mix.. Im spraying on Thrive and in 48 hours its made a noticeable difference in the colour of the leaves, and the newer growth isnt as yellow anymore.

I generally flush every two weeks or less.. When I change pot size it gets a flush, normally.. I'll change pot size about two-three times in veg.. and wont have to do it in flower.. I can run straight water in the res for a day or so. I have been aeraiting the water with a decent size twin outlet pump, and running the water 24hr.. I can almost tell the males from females now, so Ill keep it on 24 till they get a bit bigger.. One is female I know
