Exhaust Fans

Recommended Posts

Need a bit of advice on exhaust fans.

I want to start flowering in a coup weeks so i will be extending my GR to 8ft x 4ft and hanging up a second 600hps.

The room is not sealed. ( 12 inch gap around top)

For the time being i have a 250mm intake fan pulling fresh air from window and a crappy 250mm exhaust, works fine at the moment but i want to update the exhaust and this is what im looking at.

250mm hydro turbo 800 odd cubic meters hour (220lps) $115

200mm inline (apparently very quiet) 110 lps $180 (would run a second 150mm passive intake from window to shades).

Im wondering if the inline fan and duct would pull the heat from the back of the shades better or if the ceiling fan would be able to handle it as it is rated at 220lps.

If anyone is/has used similar fans and/or lighting, any advice would be

app. :D

Hey ya ferengi

Yeah im leaning toward the turbo hydro and buyin a second 1 if it cant cope with the second 600hps.

Are they noisier than your average bathroom fan?

Im in Perth myself so summer will be intersesting , will def be buying a portable air con but ill worry about that when the time comes.

Cheers

Perth summers are awesome though... not humid like the east coast.. I lived in Cairns for a year, and that was CRAP.. weather was tropical, and is the BEST place in the world for a holiday, but boring as fck to live there ;) Perth is good with the 3pm sea breeze and general lower humidity.. Sydney has a really 'damp' air, and not as clean as Perth air, I think. IM MOVING back there in a few months...:D cant wait.

Hey pure,

man i hope your plants are tied down, 2000cm/h thats serious

::D: :P

I had a bit of trouble a couple of summers ago, and I was running a 250mm bathroom exhaust 24/7 with a couple of pedestal fans. You're gonna need a portable airconditioner for sure if you want to grow in summer over in the west. Most growers I know actually shutdown for about 2-3 months while the worst is here (dec, jan, feb). Besides the fact it's too frikkin hot, I find insects are at their worst then also. (thrips, fungus gnat)

A proper hydro fan is the way to go, for sure ;)

Hey chev , yeah ive started giving this a bit of thought and i think ill get a split system air con in my bedroom and run duct into the ensuite(growroom) and keep bedroom door shut.

I was thinkin about mounting air con in growroom itself but the missus did a backflip when i told her i was buying air con for my plants ,she just dose`nt understand. :D

goina have to do a bit of research into this for right size air con etc.

Oh yeah ive found a 250mm inline duct fan that flows i think it was 150 odd lps for $190 so i think ill give this a go , i like the idea of being able to run duct to any hot spots if need be and i can actually mount this thing up in the roof and soundproof it.

cheers all

Id be happy with half that but yeah thanks for the link ill see what hes got in stock.

Bit concerned about price of postage to Perth though.

lol yeah I know it sounds like allot of power but in actual fact I think it's perfect ;) and it has the power to do two rooms aveg and a flower room (only using ne ATM causee I don't know where I'm moving next ) the girls don't get effected in a bad way at all the room just sits on the temp I want and the dirty air gets dumped out a window, I have an air conditioner to put in the room that the passive air comes from when the days start getting too hot ,

BTW I paid 10 dollars toget it sent from him to syd can't see perth being more than 15
