Difference between Flowering and Budding?

Grove

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Ive got 2 plants on the go and one of them has a very distinctive smell whilst the other is very subtle.

Both of them are around 2 months old and im not sure what I should be looking for.

I can see where i would assume the buds would grow....but nothing is there yet,

Can anyone enlighten me in regards to flowering and budding?

flowering, is the process of building a bud (way simplistic, I know)

at those sites where the 'buds should be' - there will be either 2 white 'hairs'(could be amber/brown too) or round ball looking things

not surprisingly, if you see ball(s) it is a male plant. The white 'hairs' (pistils) come out of an almost-round sac (teardrop shape?) called a calyx

males are often first to show signs of maturity (dropping balls)

If you are seeing hairs... the flowering has begun (however slow the growth is)

by 2months of age and 4 or 5 inches tall- the gender should be showing, regardless of hours in the dark or light

Like the others have said, pictures will help immensely

edit: extra info
