male/hermie plants

Recommended Posts

Looks like a girl to me. :D

That said, you should always continue to monitor plants which are thought to be female, particularly if they're seed grown rather than clones of known mothers. Plants can take their time showing hermie tendencies, and sometimes it won't unless stressed by some certain factor.

So you can definitely tell a male, and a hermie, but until you harvest, you won't know if you've absolutely got a girl, (although practically you can see it, it's always possible it will turn late) ;)

But yeah, the female flower is more like a curled leaf, with a slit down one side, usually the top, which has two white hairs, (stigmas) coming out. The male flowers will elongate and then open into what appears to be a more "conventional" flower shape, with petals and sepals and hanging anthers of pollen.

Happy growing, hope that's helped. :P

With the "ball a stick" males, do they grow the ball first then the stick and starts a branch.. or is it the stem that grows first with the ball growths on the end of them? I have a couple clones coming 2moro or soon, and I want to find out the sex of my plants ASAP :D Im preparing them for a cloning setup at the moment, ,Ill take a clone from each plant and do this that way.. in an aero cloner bubbler type setup... ill have that done today.
