Hey All,

 

We starting this yearsn plants early in pots, indoors and eventually will move them outside, i've toyed with the idea's of different media's and can''t work out what i'll use and whats the best lights to use to vege?

Got sum nasty lights in the dairy which i think might do the trick!

any help!

pick a medium that will work well outdoors if the plants are gonna end up out there anyways, potting mix with perlite or something like that maybe, best lights to use are compact fluros but they dont give off enough lumens, so id say probly a 400 or 600w hps depending on grow space,

just use a premium potting mix, i personaly use 70% searls potting mix 30% pearlite when starting indoors. you have 6 to 8 weeks before you plant them outside (depending on where you are) so its possible you could get away with straight potting mix if your container is large enough.

a lot depends if you have seed or are going to use clones. i use a 400 hps but thats only my preference. imo if you can put them outside for the daylight hours then move em in just before dark you could probably keep em happy under lights in the dairy for 6 to 8 weeks.

The best light for vegging is Metal Halide,

for flowering is HPS.
