The eco oil did nothing for me on chilli plants for green caterpillars, they just kept munching away. May still help with your problem though.

Eco Oil is for leaf miner, scale and sap sucking insects like white fly and spider mites.

 

For caterpillars you'll need Dipel or Success.

Seen somewhere's a woman using white table tennis balls on sticks 

which she drew 2 black dots on so they looked like white butterfly

supposedly white butterfly's a territorial  & will stay away from another white butterfly's patch

That looks a lot like Thrip damage except thrips will also leave like tiny bit of snail slime...

 

The pic of the accussed criminal does not however look like one which makes me suspious that he/she is not actually the cause...
