Light Cycle

Recommended Posts

wondering what people recomend and use themselfs I am currently in the first week of veg using 19/5 but I was thinking of making it's days a little longer to firstly give the plants more light in a day and secondly I am hoping this could mean I could flower with a 13 or even 14 hour day giving them the longest light period I can without keeping them in veg <~~~ would that work ? what I do-

In veg have the light on for 24 hours, ie dont turn it off at all.

The only time this differs if if the plant is stressed or has any other problem eg nute burn etc, then have your light on for 18 hrs max and let it heal in the dark.

In flower just have the light off for 12 hours then on for 12 hrs and you wont miss a beat.

Mucking around with the light schedule can cause more stress and problems than its worth.

So what I do is constant light in veg, unless plants have a problem,

and 12/12 in flower.

so the dark time is used for healing buy the plants is it ? I wasn't too sure how important darkness time was to them during Veg I think I will boost it up to 24 hours and see how they react would I be better to gradually do this or just switching straight from what i am doing into 24 hour cycle

guess I will leave the flowering to 12/12 thanx for the tip

your best off to never gradually do anything with the light, either put it on 24 or put it on 18 or 12/12 gradually putting the light from say 24 to 12 would slow the hole process of flowring by alot, plants need 12/12 to flower no more no more unless u want u mess round with it and experiment. if u introduce flowering slowly then your plants will take alot longer to flower or even show signs of flowering,

thants not quite what I meant I know to go straight to 12/12 but what I meant is I am currently running at 19/5 now and am wanting to increase the light not decrease for flowering so I was just wondering if I should have it at something like 21/3 for a few days before going straight to 24 hours or wouldn't the plants care if I put them straight on to 24 Edited by Pure
