I am setting up a small grow box namely a 100 litre esky to start my (seeds) babies off in before putting them into their main pots. What would be the best light system for this. The reason is our night time temps over the last 6 nights have been minus 6. And as I've not got my cupboard to grow in as yet, and want these babies to have a good start.

IMO.... I would use fluros anything as small as an esky needs a light thats not gonna got too hot as it will burn your seedlings Compact fluro's can be placed inches from the seedlings and not have a problem but a hid will likely burn your plants and or cause other heat related problems in that small of an area. have a look for Tom's conpact fluro post in this section it will explain what they are and how they should be used a little more

Yeah, use CF's for that, a HID would probably melt the esky. ::
