Cannabis hope for treatment

... Low THC strains 40 years ago never caused any problems.

The life time prevalence of schizophrenia in the Australian population has not changed in the last 40 years. Although diagnoses rates vary with gender, ethnicity, age and location, once you crunch the numbers down we still come out with a 1 in 100 people affected at some time during their lives.

You might not realise it but back in the 70's, and 80's we had a thriving imports market... primarily, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Lebanon for hash and sometimes bricked weed that might as well have been hash for the amount of resin and the buddha sticks out of Thailand.  The only people I knew that smoked low potency grass (as it was then called) where the hippies that grew it themselves. Even then it wasn't all low potency, every now and then there would be a bit of trippy outdoor grown sativa going around.

The whole the weed is so much stronger than it was in the 1960's doesn't take account of the fact that people were smoking a whole lot of very high thc products that are nolonger available on today's blackmarket.

Maybe those older potent strains were more stable. I guess what I was trying to say is that it is only recently with the research into CBD that it has been discovered that by breeding specifically for increased THC the CBD has been reduced.

Another point worth considering is that our genome is being degraded with every generation. I believe a lot of illnesses are caused by this, look at the number of allergies in children that were not present a couple of generations ago. Predictions are that our genome will be so degraded that in 2000 years will we not be able to reproduce, assuming humanity makes it that far.

Which ideas? I did read published scientific papers about the genome and there is plenty of evidence about reduced CBD from GW Pharmaceuticals and others. And no I can't be bothered finding it again and linking to it.

Found something doing a quick search, was a bit out on the time, 6000 years - http://thetruthwins.com/archives/the-human-race-is-dying-dna-degeneration-would-eventually-lead-to-the-total-extinction-of-humanity

Plus we are bypassing the process of natural selection by helping people reproduce that would naturally not be able to.
