Nutrients change?

Recommended Posts

Uhhh, okay ferengi, :)

For the record, Nath was right. NPK stands for Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium. The three "macro" nutrients which most higher plants require to grow. There are a whole pile of other secondary and micro nutrients required for good plant growth as well, and the ratios, (particularly of the macros) of these nutrients can actually assist or detract from a good result.

For instance, using too much P and K in veg and not enough N will result in short, weak plants, perhaps even stunted. By contrast, using too much N in the early stages can mean lanky, stretched plants with sappy, soft growth, ripe for insect attack. The different stages of the life cycle of plants require different nutrients for optimum response. ;)

Hey I could be wrong but wasnt he talking about

Canna NPK which is http://www.gchydro.com/detail.asp?product_id=XCANNAPK

which like I said is otherwsie known as Potash. Dutch master calls their NPK Potash anyways :)

every fertiliser ever made is NPK, which like Nath said is NPK stands for Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium.

However I took it as he was talking about additives and NOT just normal fertiliser? sorry if I read it wrong.

. Fast growing plants though, may need additional Phosphate (P) and Potassium (K). CANNA PK 13-14 stimulates floral development during the blooming phase, providing exuberant flowers and larger yields.

Depending on the EC values and the type of growing medium used, PK 13-14 contributes to improved bloom and fructification. Unlike other blooming aids, Canna PK13-14 works rapidly and is becomes immediately available to the plant, because it requires a very small amount of absorption energy. This allows the plant to fully focus on blooming.

PHOSPHATE

Phosphorous is an essential element in general plant nutrition. It plays a key role in cell combustion and in the plant’s total energy transfer. It is a basic element for cell membranes and is indispensable to cell development. During the blooming period of fast-growing plants, phosphor improves the cell build-up in the flowers as well as other growth shoots and the vascular system.Canna PK13/14 is absorbed easily from any medium, and stimulates the bloom and simply helps building strong cells.

POTASSIUM (K)

Potassium is found in all parts of the plant. It is necessary for all the plant’s activities involving water transportation. Potassium also ensures the plant’s sturdiness and quality, and it drives numerous other processes, such as the carbohydrate system. When applied in the right quantities, Potassium allows the plant to produce sufficient carbohydrates and to stimulate the growth of flowers during the bloom phase. Over application of Potassium may cause salt damage, for example, or a shortage of Calcium and Magnesium resulting acidification of the root environment. Used in the quantities listed, Canna PK 13/14 is the perfect supplement for blooming plants.

Potash doesnt have any Nitrogen in it.. well, its 'Sulphate of Potash'.. I got some today, its 41.5% Potassium (K) and 17% Sulphur.. I dunno what the other 50% odd percent is.. but the Canna PK13-14 is totally different... Im gonna go with the Potash to try out.. to get the flowers fully started.. then in two weeks or so *(Plants are 4 days in flower)* ill change and get some canna flores.. currently still using dutchfest hydrogrow.

yea nath it contains none so the numbers would be 0-15-15 or whatever. its just not shown because its an empty value.

Like you dont type 6 as 06 but thats also the correct way.

explained better here

Heres a pic of NPK by Nulife.

you can see on the lable what I mean by NPK readings of 0 being on the bottle.

So this one I use is NPK 0-9-17.
