Nutrients change?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have been using and I quite like xtream nutrients, however I have been looking around at alternatives and have come accross these two brands which seems good.

1st Canna- Apparently they test their nutrients on cannabis and this nutrient is designed for growing pot?

I have been told that CANNA is the WORLDS BEST nutrient however it is designed for the hands on gardener in order to get the best results.

2nd- Budpounder- These guys are releasing a new product that I forget the name of right now, However it is the worlds first nutrient with decent chelated Iron in the mix?

Also ADVANCED NUTRIENTS- these people have an awesome product range BUT it seems to confussing and also would cost a fortune to buy all the products that they sell.

Also it appears that alot of the products are the SAME thing but in different bottles.

I was also given a experimental Spray product to try, It claims that it is made from a RICE extract and that it causes FAST growth??

Any thoughts, or suggestions or even WHY you like the nutrients that you are using??? :o lol

Go with a simple, 2 part or one part basic nutrient, perhaps with a flowering booster nutrient for the flowering stage.

More complex does not equal better. lol Get the basics right, and you'll be able to judge whether there is any "real" difference between these products.

The rice product sounds like giberellin, do you have any details on that? Just because it's marketed to do something "spectacular" or "amazing" to plants, doesn't necessarily mean it'll really do shit, or be what they say it is.

So yeah, I'd say go simple. KISS.

I ended up going with bud pounders new name. Experts choice.

Its a pretty good nute too, but I reakon most nutes are just the same thing anyways.

I get the same results from cheap nutes to expensive nutes, so will switch back to xtream once its finished.

oh and the canna does look good, But is it it true that its not suited for aussie conditions? or that it only performs on well cared for plants??

Ill be buying some Canna nutes 2moro.. either that or the General Hydro 3 part.. I like the idea of being able to change the nute strengths at different phases of growth.. but then I dont like the idea of having some left over here and there.. so I guess its the Canna.. Also will be getting the Canna PK13-14 too :)

Well everything is made up from different elements.. these elements are represented often as letters.. for example, N = Nitrogen, P = Phospherous and K = Potassium.. also things like Mg is Magnesium, Ca = Calcium.. err been a while since high school chemistry, so correct me if im wrong :) Also, NPK is highly overrated, especially by beginner growers.. Ive tried high N fertilizers and low N ones.. and its not about how much nutrients or \nutrient ratios are in a nute.. its about how the plants can intake those nutrients.. then if there there is a disorder or shortage, you can then stuff with NPK and adding things to make a better mix for you. For example, i was using Thrive for a bit, due to the NPK being 24/5/9 or somethig like that.. at the end of the day, my DutchFest was way better.. even with 1/3rd of the N in it.. just because the plants were already getting enough N and the Thrive although it says its "soluble", really isnt.

NPK- is otherwsie known as Potash.

Potash is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of a plant undergoing profuse flowering. When plants enter the flowering stage their demands for rapidly available phosphorus rise dramatically due to the large amount of floral clusters being produced. If you could see a flowering plant through an infrared camera it would be absolutely glowing due to the tremendous amounts of energy being produced. This energy which we can see as heat is provided for primarily by phosphorous. Using Potash supplies this extra phosphorous in it’s most available form which increases the size, profusion & density of flowers & helps maintain close internodal spacing which is vital for an increased yield. http://www.hydroponic-shop.com/product_inf...products_id=554
