Used at the proper time one of the best, least insidious growth inhibitors is vitamin B-9.Used from just after pre-flower,up untill ripening it will signifigantly reduce stretching. Not to mention the other benifits of running B complex solutions in your plants, like stress relief etc.

You can use growth retardants instead of tipping and get the same results as you would, but without tipping which causes undue stress.

instead of removing the growing tips, you can use growth retardants to shorten the plant, make the plant bushier, and can create more branches. This in turn should improve the yeild. Avoid tipping as use of this technique can remove the best parts of the plant and even stress it or allow infection.

It also severely screws with normal plant processes, and makes for unnatural chemical by-products being left in the plants, and eventually in the smoke you toke.

how do you know that Luke? Is this another bit of advice based on sentiment rather than fact? Everyone uses chemicals on their plants, why would you say one chemical is worse than any of the others?
