Balls...should I be worried?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I'm into week 2 of flowering on this plant, could you please tell me these "balls" are anything to worry about? its a White Widow Feminised Autoflower. I've read so many different threads with conflicting information. Some say "calyx", others say male plant (though they're single so don't think its that), others Hermie, others say "don't worry about it!".

Any advice would be appreciated.

Those are individual female flowers and absolutely nothing to worry about.  When the start looking different from that like bananas, a 3D spade like from a deck of card, etc. you'll have reason to show concern but from what I can see you have a very dominant lady that isn't showing a single hermie bit at all :)

Just a follow up question if you don't mind. I have another plant that is more mature (6 weeks into flower), she's nice and bushy with some good buds, I figure she's about 2 weeks from harvest (just about to start flushing). There are still those "balls" on the stem, does that mean I should let it mature more before harvesting or are they always present no matter the age of the plant?

My last grow was a Northern Lights Auto and I never saw those pods, that was my first grow though so I probably missed it!

What you are referring to as 'balls' are calyxes. If you haven't already done so you should study an image of the different parts of the Cannabis plant.

The calyxes are what form the buds, they stay there the whole time. This is good cause you want to smoke them.

Thanks Naycha,

ph, temps, humidity, soil, hydro, nutes, light, light cycles ventilation, power OMG Information overload!!!

I think I've over-read info on Cannabis, I've literally spent weeks reading up and researching, perhaps a case of too much information making me paranoid or just experiencing things in real life easier than reading/seeing pictures. Its also difficult to know what is truth and fiction on many of the forums around. I do appreciate everyone's input, thank you.
