10w 700 lumen warm white LED downlights and very close proximity?

Recommended Posts

Hey all, love the site.
My question is, for a budget, cupboard setup. Would something like this yield half decent results? Providing you hung (adjustable jack-chain) the downlights within say 20mm of the top of the plant and adjusted up as the plant grew?

What if also, you had multiple dowlights hung on varying angles, pointed at the amp (45 degrees facing the plant, 20mm proximity, surrounding each plant, and hung at different heights)

The setup im thinking is for 2 plants, 4 - 6 downlights hung off jack chain surounding the plants.  Therefor maximum light with minimum heat and wattage.

Cheers all.

without adequate reading and research you're more than likely to end up with globes in the wrong spectrum.

also, whatever you do, leds will get your subpar results.

go for a 70 watt hps or something if you're concerned about wattage

they get sold as security lights, go to an electricians supply store.

/me ends his stoned ramble

absolutely go with LEDS... the idea that Leds are sub par is old school... unfortunately in OZ we get flooded STILL with chinese shit that isnt even equiped with what chips they say they are

Leds are incredibly easy to DIY as well...

I have seens a very successful grow with CREE home bulbs but i dont believe we can get them here in OZ yet....

I have also seens grows with PAR 38 lights ... its just a matter of hooking them up

PM if you need any more advice....

if you are OK with a soldering iron you should check out Cree COB's (chip on boards) NOT multichips... these will be were LEDS are heading as they are extremely efficient...

anyway all the bst with what you decide
