Best Shoes For Guerrilla Grow

Recommended Posts

Go to the nearest Horseland or similar tack store and pick up a set of floating bandages. These are what you wrap a horse's legs in before loading them for transport, but they can be used for a range of wrapping needs and make excellent roller banadages for snake bite, twisted and/or rolled ankles.

I don't have any horses anymore, but I still have a couple of sets of floating bandages because they are that useful!

Scarpa are good, but id be heading to the army disposal, as lenny mentioned...coupla pairs of explorer socks, some gaiters.

I bought a pair of steel blue steel caps when I was working as a tree loppers groundy. I bought them in the morning and wore them from then on. Seriously comfy, on my feet all day long never one blister.

My ex threw them out when we parted ways along with my cambridge audio cd player, lol.

Good luck with the grow!

Thanks for some nice info Louise, I never thought of the bandaging. It is particularly interesting in the case of my knees and strapping-are they worth investigating ya reckon...for that purpose?  Off topic a bit but :)

Have you thought of checking out your local army surplus stores?
GP's are AWESOME! I have a pair that I've had for 14 years and they have saved my ankles many a time in the past. :good:

hi Lenny what are GPs? :unknw:

Interesting thread tully.  Unless its less than 50m from the house i am unable to grow outside but if I could get around a bit i think I would purchase the best quality hiking/climbing-specific boot i could afford....I'm daydreaming about it now.

good growing to you

Knees are hard to strap with a roller bandage because of the shape and constant movement, bandages tend to move unless they are self sticking, conforming types... but they are generally single use only... I think you'd be better off with a well fitting thermoskin brace for a knee problem.

The bandages that Louise proposes are fantastic, plus you will need to know how to apply them correctly in the worst case scenario. They are also usefull in splinting a limb if need be.

Another piece of equipment worth investing in is a good quality, heavy fixed blade knife on your hip. I prefer 150mm to 200mm blades. This piece of equipment is useful for a hundred and one things. A folding blade knife is useful, but not as useful as a fixed blade knife by half.

As you are going to be by yourself, remember there is only 1 golden rule. SAFETY FIRST, LAST AND ALWAYS.

I wish you good luck and may all you problems be inconsequential.
