Mystery seeds in my buds

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I harvested a few plants about a month ago and I discovered some seeded bud, strangely enough it was just on one of the plants and only from one lower branch. Now there wasn't any male plants anywhere near my plot so I can't understand how I got seed in my buds, can anybody explain this? Would it be okay to use these seeds for next years crop?

Hi raven6,

sometimes female flowers can turn Hermaphrodite , sometimes stress can cause this or a light leak.. or it could be in the plants genes..

what has happened is the female flower has turned part male and self pollinated and produced seed, and the chances are the seed will produce' Hermie ' plants

was your grow bag seed ? or did it come from a seed bank or reliable breeder?

hope this helps, im not an expert, just telling you what i have read up on.

Peace vape

Thanks for the reply, the seed wasn't a from a seed bank but bag seed I have used to harvest a crop for about three years now. It was an outdoor crop so light leak certaintly shouldn't have been a problem and I didn't notice any male flowers otherwise I would of ripped the plant out.

it is very normal, plants are more likely to go male or hermi if only 1 plant is grown. I grew 1 plant each year for 3 yrs and got 100% crappy males every time, then a mate suggested I put 2 side by side...after that I got 1 fem 1 male. later removing male before it flowered (male plant not fem plant has actual flower), the female grew great but hermied on very lower branches, so is not uncommon, quality of smoke would not diminish by much I think.
