Nanolux ballasts

Recommended Posts

If a digi ballast runs at the same watts, how would it use less power ?

Ballasts use more power than the wattage of the globe, my 600W growlush digital ballast used between 620-630W from memory. I used one of those things you plug your appliances in to measure how much power they are using.

Digital ballasts are also more efficient owing to the fact that they operate at a much higher frequency to magnetic ballasts 28,800-71,000Hz (depending on manufacturer) compared to magnetic ballasts that operate at 50Hz.

I wanted to know if they have had to take one back. If they had trouble with any over heating problems & just how they thought it went compared to their last ballast. I've seen them going cheap on ebay for $170

Haven't had any problems with a 600w digital one, it sits on the floor at room temp so no heat issues, haven't had any other digital ballasts.
