Some advice needed about fans.

Recommended Posts

Going to get myself a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2 meter tent and wondering what fans you guys would recommend..

Im also wondering what you guys find to be the quiter running fans..

This will be my only intake as well... CF > fan > outside

I would like something that I dont have to run at full speed to get the negative pressue.. I have heard someone else on here mention its good to get a bigger fan and dial it back to assist with noise..

so any brands that have a controller included would be good....

Thanks

Personally I think a 200mm is the way to go, the whole buy it right the first time motto.

In future if you upgrade you will wish you had :) Also bigger fan can be made quieter for the same air movement.

Do you have any idea on brands to look at with controller.

To be quite Honest Midget, I think a 150mm centri will be fine for you. If you want all the bells and whistles get a Blauberg with temp controller.

I have a westaflex plastic housed 150mm centri thats been going great guns for years, fairly quiet, cheap and they last.

I don't like fan speed controllers. If ya fans too loud you need to concentrate more on hiding the sound, not choke the fan into being quieter.

Also there is little difference between a 200mm centri fan and a150mm centri fan. The 200mm removes a larger volume but at a slower speed, the 150mm, slightly smaller volume, but with more velocity. After attaching a carbon filter the difference is bugger all.

My 200mm fan is way louder than my 150mm also, and I run my 150mm centri on a 1.4m x 2.8m tent, just that to ventilate the tent witha small inline running 1200w's in cooltubes.

I never grow in summer indoors, but summer indoor grows are for mugs.

What do you think about teh phresh fan silencers...? I think I will definitely need some form of silencing.. thats why i was looking at a fan with a controller to buy a bigger fan and dial it back hence making it move the same air just working at less velocity.

Thanks for the advice mate
