Which Combination Will Run Cooler?

Does anyone know if a grow room 2m x 3m will run cooler with 2 x 1000w or 4 x 400w. Your help will save me doing an expensive experiment.

Also has anyone heard about the 1000w optic fiber heatless hydro light I initially saw it in a high times mag now I can't find it. Also there is talk of high powered fluoro's, LED's, and other alternatives. Does anyone have any info or links on these?

I've heard about the 1000w equivalent fibre optic lights, they look great, but no, I don't know where you'd get em.

 

As to what would be hotter, I'd say the 4 400's would probably put out less heat overall than 2 1000's, although that's something you'd have to test. You'd need more ventilation to set up for 4 400's, but you'd have a far more even canopy.

 

Considered using 600's? They could provide the lighting you need with much more efficiency than the 1000's.

 

Good luck with the search, I'll be interested to see if a fibre-optic lighting system like the one you describe will take off.

For that space and shape you should really be looking a 4 x 600w, I would also look at making it into 2 rooms at 2m x 1.5m and using one for veg and one for flower.

More lumens per watt, and more even coverage of the canopy.
