The stems r purple 2 why does any1 no?

This could be due to the strain or they may be getting a bit cold during the dark period.

i dont under stand how often to give em nutes 1/2 a 1/4 strenth

you start off with 1/4 strength nutrients and stay with them for a couple of weeks then increase to half strength for a week and gradually work them up to full strength over the following week.

and how often to give em straight rain water?

Flushing is recommended once a week with ph corrected water, rainwater is usually slightly acidic so it will need correcting, also rainwater is only as clean as the area of collection so if your roof and gutters are dusty or dirty then the water is too.
