How could anyone be such a dope?

For a brief moment in history WA had some relatively sane cannabis laws, perhaps she was living in the past. IMO there is no excuse for a copper to trap a person into giving up information. furthermore,  this is a newspaper article designed to provoke anti cannabis feelings in the community. Don't be fooled.

I do not understand why people having a laugh at the Mt Barker woman's stupidity should be criticised.

 

Mt Barker is in Australia, Australia does not have any medical exemptions or permits for growing cannabis... it is 100% illegal.

 

Although we all empathise with her loss, she did confess to a crime and the police would be errant to ignore that.

 

If a man walked into a police station and reported a woman for assaulting him by kicking, punching and biting him when he carjacked her,... should they ignore the carjacking confession?

 

If the woman was stupid enough to go to a police station and tell them she was growing cannabis, then was she also also stupid enough to go blabbing to everyone about her dope plants with the inevitable consequences,... I suspect so.

 

You cant blame the cops for pursuing her confession, and you cant blame members for having a laugh at it all.
