A MIDDLE-AGED Mount Barker woman has reported her stolen cannabis plant to police — and has subsequently been charged with cultivating the illegal drug.

The woman, 46, went to the Mt Barker station on Monday to complain about the theft.

Diligent police officers agreed to visit her home about 6pm to “check on the security of her other plants’’ and allegedly found three illegal cannabis plants growing.

They were promptly seized and the woman reported for cultivating cannabis.

She will receive a summons to attend court later, a police spokesman said.

“The public is reminded that growing cannabis is not only illegal, but can also attract other crimes such as break-ins,’’ he said.

They are a bunch of pricks. They could have informed her that cannabis is illegal. And it's not a good idea to invite them back to help her with her security concerns.
