Should i trim under growth on these little babies?

Hey guys just a quickie, these are around 26 days old from seed now and are sitting under 2 x 250W cfl and 1 x 200w LED for vegging, As ive said in the diary they look a little condensed and bushy to me and was wondering if i should trim all the really small leaves and if it will actually benefit the vegging process at this stage... But im also afraid of getting rid of potential bud sites.... Is there an issue with flowering if the nodes are really close to each other light this ?

 

This one i already trimmed a few bits off..

 

 

And these two i left alone and they look really bushy..

heya Herby, I would only trim whats hitting the medium so it doesn't get rot or something.

It's a good thing to have closely spaced nodes, especially in small spaces.

ahhh ok cool thanks, Well i will leave them for now but i will trim the ones touching the coco...The other 2 have yellowing leaves that are close to the coco so i guess i can cut em off. Thanks mate!

Have to agree with Nibbs, only remove leaves that touch the medium to reduce the chance of fungus... there is no benefit to the plant removing yellowing leaves. The yellowing is the plant recycling the nutrients from the leaves, if you cut them off you rob the plant of those nutrients.

Do you think the LED contributed to their veg grow much?

Just a quick shot of a little one that went straight to 12/12 under LED only day 1 from seed.  This is almost exactly the same age as yours (28 days), notice the same tight node spacing.  It seems this is how it is with leds, tight nodes in veg but not a great deal of height which I feel is due to the spectrums used.  That said genetics also has a big part to play also.

as i said below im not sure how the led is contributing as its only been in there for about 10 days out of the 27 or so days with the cfls. Unknown strain, they are just bag seed and i dont even know if they are male or female yet!

As mentioned genetics are the most important thing when determining if its going to be tall and lanky or squat and bushy; BUT the leds do keep them quite squat compared to hps at the same growth stage whether its indi or sati.  Ill let you experiment a little more with various strains and come to your own conclusions

problem is i dont know what the strain is as its bag seed..I do what my second grow to be something well known though but i cant find the balls to order seeds online though, i want to try some lemon haze, og kush and that 50oz moby dick even.
