Cannabis Cookie Chef Jailed

A man has been jailed for nine months for growing a large crop of marijuana so he could produce a batch of hash brownies to share with friends.

Paul Michael King, 37, of Mooloolabah on the Sunshine Coast, pleaded guilty today to one count each of production and possession of drugs in January last year.

Police raided King's property at Narangba, north of Brisbane, and discovered 27kg of cannabis.

King's barrister Jim Veivers told the Supreme Court in Brisbane his client had planned to dice, boil, strain and puree the drugs, mix them with butter and bake what would have been a huge batch of cookies.

Mr Veivers said King had intended to distribute them to his large group of friends on camping trips on Fraser Island and at the Gympie Muster, a country and western event.

He also planned to take some cookies to the hippie community at Nimbin in northern New South Wales.

"Some people like to hand out six packs (of beer), but my client likes to do that with cookies," Mr Veivers said.

Justice John Byrne sentenced King to 18 months jail, to be suspended after he has served nine months.

Chitty is 67 years old, and her partner Ronald John Henry Stratford is 56.

They were caught with 6kg of cannabis, some of which was frozen and stored in a deep freeze.

This was in England i think, they were let off with a fine.

6 x 6 is 36, so that guy didnt even have 6 times as much as them, and got sent to jail.. Great court system we got going here..Plus i bet the 27kg was wet as piss still and had dirt and all to add to the weight.

" Who put the Cookie in the Cookie Jar?" lol . This guy would need a cookie garage to store all the cookies he was gonna make with that. :chef:

27kg is a lot but 9 months is a tad harsh. Bet if he slipped a few of those cookies onto the morning tea tray in the courts he would of got off a lot lighter. . hehe. Feel for the guy.

COOKIE MONSTER!!!!! - would of made a great head line in the paper.lol
