Sexing Help

Hi Guys,

 

I've been flowering for 10 days now and still no white hairs I'm pretty sure my plants are male, they have tiny balls at each internode. I've attached a (not so clear) pic, can anyone confirm their sex?

Looks like it could be a male but the picture is a little too blurry to be sure. Are the little balls on sticks? There is a link to some close ups of male flowers in my signature.

I think Toms is right, i enhanced the picture as much as i could,but it still is a little too blurry to tell 100%,but by the looks of things, i think you could have a male. - CALYX.

For a more accurate diagnoses, holding a magnifying glass directly onto the lens of the digi-cam can allow much clearer close up shots. A bit of experimenting and you can get some fairly close shots of small detail.

Here's another pic taken with a magnifying glass, I can't get much better quality as I've only got a 1 Megapixel digicam.

 

Do female plants grow pistils from small balls? Or does the presence of small balls indicate a male?

I'm still not sure, the balls aren't growing on sticks as Tom asked. The only thing that makes them look male is there are groups of balls, is there only ever one female preflower at each node?

 

All my plants are exactly the same sex, whatever that is

The first time that I ever grew a friend of mine gave me a whole heap of seeds. I planted 12 and got 11 plants with exactly the same as what youve got in your pics.

My guess is that you've got a hermie but predominantly male. You will get a few female hairs coming out but not many and as such it's probably not even worth your effort to keep them going because they'll never form a nice tight bud. From my own personal experience your plants will grow tall & leggy with not much in the way of quality smoke.

Don't give up though keep on trying & when you get a good looking girl, clone, clone, clone!!!

I have practically given up on bag seed because more often than not the seed comes from hermies and my own experience tells me that seeds from hermies have a very high rate of producing hermies. Even though some plants tend to become hermies through stress etc.

Finally one product that I used once was a seed soaking solution that gives a very high rate of "feminizing" seeds (in my case using the same seeds that my friend had given me gave me 1m & 11f with only a slight tendency towards being a hermie ie balls came out very late in the flowering period) and a feminizing spray which I used 3 days before flowering. The products that I used were Sensa Soak & Sensa Spray both products, or similar, are readily available through any good hydro shop or online.
