Nutrient burning holes in leaves or bugs eating them ?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys i noticed one of my smaller plants has a hole in one of the leaves and was wondering weather its a bug in there somewhere having a feed or maybe it was from some water droplets that sat on the leaf to long and burnt a hole in it from the light shining on it kind of like a magnifying glass on ants, last feed i did get alot of droplets all over the leafs but this is the only one that has these holes, the under side of the leaf looks ok and i didn't spot any bugs in there.

Looks like some leaf cutting brute of an insect had his way with that leaf.

What's your EC or PPM?

Ph 5.8, EC 1.65-1.75 PPM not sure

A droplet of water on a leaf can work like a magnifier just as you've said herby. Looking nice n healthy other then that man.........

Cheers Sandchu

Thats what i thought, Im getting some yellowing of the leaves now as well i thought it was just the seedling leafs but now alot of them at the bottom are getting it.

If the plants are progressively yellowing from the bottom upwards... it means they need more food.

When the roots can't find enough nitrogen in the medium it will begin to draw on the nitrogen stores in it's leaves to continue growing. This begins with the oldest leaves and progressively moves up the plant as nutrient stores are depleted.

That's kind of high for a small plant, it could burning, but it could be an insect also.
