politicians just hate anything controversial , dont think there is a politician out of either mob has the guts to say what they really think

its all follow the Party line which sounds like its set by ultra conservatives on both sides

 

how this quote from that article from no less than the Hemp party

 

National Campaign Director of the HEMP Party James Moylan said that people across the country were ready for the medicinal use of marijuana, but politicians weren’t.

“When you look at how harmful a substance is — that’s how you regulate it,” he said.

“The push for cannabis use is not a ‘free for all’, it’s not a recreational use debate.

 

not a recreational use debate ?? wtf ... its as much a recreational drug as it is a Medical God-given herb and both uses should be decriminalised at the very least

Given the choice between nothing or legal medicinal access I personally choose to remain a criminal for the sake of compassion.  There are people far worse off than I that could benefit from cannabis like children with epilepsy for starters that I would risk imprisonment for. The difference it can make to the lives of tens if not hundreds of thousands of people in Australia shouldn't be taken for granted and although the laws are wrong those that truly need it for medicine shouldn't be prevented access because of any recreational use even if that means the rest of us are criminals.  It's not ideal but if politicians could at least see it that way we would at least take a single step in the right direction

the fact is that Australia is way more conservative than we like to think..

 

Australia is now ultra conservative and with the ageing population and the young libs we have become a nation of old fogeys and young fogeys...

 

I honestly believe we are going through such a negative period in the nations political history that it will be another good 10 years before anything is done... if at all.

 

Australia as a forward thinking innovative nation is far from the truth..

 

Politicians have always been somewhat out for themsleves but I can recall ever being this discouraged by both sides of the parlaiment....

 

Its so much more about point scoring than being elected to make the country better....

 

Anyway just my 2cents
