Brown leaf tips.Base of stems seem dry

Recommended Posts

The trunks look perfectly normal... there is a bit of a colour and texture change as the wood matures.

The tip burn is marginal and nothing to worry over. Tip burn is usually the result of a bit too much free nitrogen in the feed water... it takes a few days to appear, so what caused it is in the past by the time you notice it. Tip burn can also appear if the plants gets too dry.

Especially during hot and windy weather, the plants will take up more water than nutrients, the unused, water soluble, nutrients then form a more concentrated solution in the remaining soil moisture.

Unless the tip burn progresses to the newer leaves, you don't need to do anything. If it does continue add more water and less nutrients.

Hey Heathen,

I'd have to agree with Louise, nothing to worry about. Lou's explanation is also on the money

The bulk of those plants are a nice rich green, that's what you want. And a bit of tip burning is not unusual
