Four men charged following cannabis seizure - Operation Tripo

Wednesday, 19 February 2014 10:15:05 PM

Four men have been charged after police seized cannabis with an estimated potential street value of more than $40,000 during a search of four properties in Coffs Harbour and Toormina.

Operation Tripo, comprising officers from Coffs-Clarence Target Action Group, was established to target the cultivation of cannabis in the area.

Today (Wednesday 19 February 2014), police searched three units in Vincent Street, Coffs Harbour and a unit in Moran Close, Toormina.

Police were allegedly granted permission to search the houses after receiving information that the occupants were growing cannabis in the backyard.

During the search police located 15 cannabis plants and more than one kilogram of cannabis.

Four men, aged 29, 37 and two aged 21, were issued with a future court attendance notice to attend Coffs Harbour Local Court on Monday 21 April 2014.

4 different busts for 15 plants and a total of 1 kg of dope between them . And the cops say a street value of 40 grand ??  . err yeah way to go boys .

The fines these guys will get wont even cover the cost in resources used in the operation to bust them and they have done nothing to stop drugs on the street as these guys obviously grew so they did not have to by from the streets .

What are police suppose to do again ?

I'm surprised they didn't say $50,000 using the old $2000 a plant and $20 a gram valuing of the old days :faint:

Once again the police and their false priorities in chasing the small guy instead of  organised crime.. lets fill up the court system with petty weed smokers who dont appear to be supplying anyone....

way to go coppers...meanwhile the bikies are still trafficking ICE and other hard drugs with little to no pressure put on them

By chasing the small guy just assists organised crime as where else are you going to get your pot from if you dont grow it.

To be fair it wasnt the smartest thing to grow outside for the neighbors to see
