Funnel Web Spiders and Wild Cannabis

Recommended Posts

Interesting fact folks,

There are two areas of Australia where large numbers of marijuana plants once grew wild. The Hunter Valley in NSW and the Sunshine Coast hinterland of Queensland.

According to the book marijuana australiana by JL Jiggens there were cannabis eradication efforts in both these two areas. Two areas where THC containing cannabis plants, grew naturally in wild and large proportions. I hope that the people who were eradicating the marijuana in these areas or harvesting the marijuana in these areas were wearing gloves. Because the two locations are also home to the deadly funnel web spider, which is known to contain venom strong enough to kill a human being.
