POLICE have charged 48 people with 128 drug and property offences after a series of raids on the Darling Downs in south-east Queensland.

In an operation code-named Haricot, State Flying Squad detectives executed 40 search warrants in Toowoomba, Helidon, Oakey, Goombungee, Kingsthorpe, Hirstvale and Millmerran.

There were 79 drug and 43 property-related offences. Six other charges were also laid, including possessing an insecure firearm, assaulting police and obstructing police.

A cannabis plantation was found on a property outside Millmerran and a 19-year-old woman and a 20-yer-old man were also charged with drug offences after a quantity of cannabis, ecstasy and cash were found at a house in Toowoomba.

Senior Sergeant Mark Kelly of the Toowoomba District Tactical Crime Squad said the raids were made with the help of tip-offs from the public.

Those charged will face local magistrates courts over the next three weeks.

Loose lips sink ships.

Tip offs?? People like that are called 'dogs' in my vocabulary.

People who are dogs make me sick, and are sick themselves (looking for their moment of glory) So sick dogs usually are put down right???

Tell no-one.........

When will this war end??

When they realise they are always going to lose........

I personally have no pity at all to Drug Dealing Scum. Charging people money for something that is basically free to grow. They should be publicly flogged for their lowly acts againt humanity.

Potheads/Growers who have firearms are the type of people who give the half-decent smokers/growers a bad name. You dont need a gun unless there is a reason to use it. There is a difference between growing a bit of personal and growing a product to commit ciminal acts.

Keep these scum in jail where they belong. Some might see my view to being a bit extreme or just plain wrong. But in the long run think of the big picture. The basic "straight" family while eating their steak and veg dinner are watching the news see about a drug bust where some people were caught growing some pot and they also found guns, assaulting police and obstructing police is not a act of a normal(non-criminal) person just wanting to smoke a substance for personal reasons.

It isnt the attitude of Politicians that need to be changed. The attitude of the average person needs to be changed so the general society will have a different way of seeing people who smoke some pot. The Politicians attitude might change if these Drug Dealers will stop giving Marijuana a bad name. Take away the criminal element of pot and it would not take too long for it to be decriminized or if not made legal.

Just my thoughts on the subject. Sick and tired of people saying it is wrong that people get charged for growing some pot. Fair enough I will bag any ruling on someone being charged for some personal pot. But growing enough to sell is not helping the people who are genuine about getting Marijuana Laws reversed.

I reckon pleece should use bow and arrows, or a big net they drop from a gyrocopter or hot air balloons capable of making the trio from moon to the earth.

And that pot should be sold in a can like baked beans, specially in Queensland.

Beer should be sold out of bowsers like petrol and put into refillable containers, along with animal juice and gortex.

Yeah agreed, but many smokers rely on them as their only source of mj and not everyone has the ability to grow their own, especially medical users. The sooner the stupid governments get off their collective backsides and legalise mj the sooner pot dealers will disappear.

hmm sounds like a waste of time to me, unless there was heaps of guns or pot or chems or something...

Waste of cops time, waste of court time, waste of everyones time... All negative..

But yeh large growers/dealers aint doing the cause any good and should be severly dealt wit also,,, kinda depends if it is a 1st offence or not n shit too i think...i aint no judge or jur0r tho.

growers with under say 10 plants arent big scale obviously tho and should get smaller fines...

i dunno heh

It should be legal to grow at home, legal for commercial growers to supply and grow in greenhouses, bloody legal!

Dealers are just a response by societies demand for cannabis and other illicit drugs. Take away their "illicitness" and you take it out of the criminal element. Or at the very least destroy it's stranglehold on it.

I'm not saying it's not a hard thing to do, but it's fucking bullshit that we should think of "dealers" as the reason for the problems of society. :)

yeah, actually i tend to agree with you there luke (about being allowed to grow commercially, in greenhouses, wherever) ppl shouldnt be fined even! Imagine being fined or jailed for growing 1 hundred gum trees? or whatever, it's a weed, it's part of nature...

I guess the thing that is more upsetting in some of those arrests are-

"possessing an insecure firearm, assaulting police and obstructing police."

I dont think my earier post abt dealers being severly dealt with is correct..even if it is heroin, the shit i hate the most, i kinda agree with luke, even on shit i hate like H, if ppl want it, why not sell it to them legally and tax them and take away any illegal element, thus dropping the price way down. I imagine heroin is really cheap to produce., like pot (when not buying off a dealer)...
