Legal pot plan up in smoke

Recommended Posts

This isn't from the papers, my uncle has it and I do believe it was caused by his lifetime smoking of marijuana. And yes I do agree with what you are saying, what I was trying to say is that there may be very few numbers of it effecting lives. But they way the acting premier has said that, could mean anything..

Hey not meaning to lessen the telling of your story regarding your uncle crunk as it's a terrible illness for the families of sufferers, however there is no medical evidence to back up the claim that cannabis causes schizophrenia.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19560900

Basically that report above from the UK, which was/is the largest study ever done on this subject found that after 40+ years of cannabis use;

183 practises encompassing 600 000 patients over 10 years, between 1996 - 2005 the incidence and prevalence of schizophrenia and psychoses were either stable or declining.

In conclusion, this study did not find any evidence of increasing schizophrenia or psychoses in the general population from 1996 to 2005

I'ved lived with someone with the illness and what I saw happening was that while the cannabis was not a cure it helped the person deal with the stupefying anti-psychotic drugs and find a comfortable level where they could function without being so constantly bombed up. THE main problem is those people then weaning themselves off the anti-psychotics, for any number of reasons, which always ends with disastrous results. I've tried Zyprexa myself and whoaaa, it was like smoking 10 cones of oil in one hit, very hard to function on, no wonder people don't like taking those medications, but it is important that they do.

We as a nation and nations around the wrold allowed tobacco with its toxins to be readily available... all due to the lobbying of big business.

We as a nation allow pokies to destroy lives buy taking up more than half some pubs in Sydney (mini casino's)

We also have seens a rise (albeit in the youth) of coward punches... alcohol related violence.

yet we are still stuck in consevartive 1930's australia.

If we are wrroied about its affects surely the way to go is dispesiaries and controlled administration AS WELL AS TAX REVENUE for the governents. It is estimated I beleive that Colorado wil gain close to 70 million a year. not to mention the money saved by allowing people to not be seen as criminals and the money saved by our polioce and justice system.

I see from all the comments about Australian legislation on medical cannabis that there is a lot of negative vibes. For any movement to succeed you need to post positive views, to inspire people, to give the movement momentum. If you want to have a positive outcome you need to post positive outcomes from other movements throughout the world. You need to focus on something that has actually worked that is reported by credible news outlets .

Let me give you an example, there is a young girl call Charlotte who suffers from Dravets Syndrome ,which simplified is a serious form of epilepsy siezures.

I would like you to read the story of Charlotte Figi and the incredible Stanley brothers , who have given this young girl and many more sufferers a proper life.

The following link is the story of Charlotte :- /www.pukkabudz.co.uk/blogPost.php?id=43 . I am sorry the link for the story is in this blog it was reported by CNN. please read it it is an inspiration to everybody for why we should keep putting pressure on our governments to legalize marijuana/cannabis for medical reasons.

This story will inspire you to be proactive in your future comments.

Do you believe that you get withdrawal symptoms from smoking cannabis?

I stopped smoking cannabis for about 10 years, which also coincided with stopping smoking cigarettes. I did not particularly miss either. what iI did find out years later , by my eldest daughter, all the other ways I could smoke pot. Funnily enough I only smoke pot for two reasons, one to control the constant pain from sciatica when it becomes intolerable and the second reason it makes me see sense of the world I live in.

When i was addicted to cigarettes i smoke 40 per day, I have never smoked forty joints a day.

Hi Louise

I am sorry to hear your uncle has schizophrenia .

Can I ask you at what age he was diagnosed and if it was later in life.

Normally schizophrenia manifests earlier in life, and you are suggesting it occurred later in life after smoking cannabis.

It sounds like your uncle has some other condition, because schizophrenia usually appears earlier in life.

My best friend is Antonio Garcia from Fuengirola in Spain who has two sons. The two sons were both  diagnosed with schizophrenia, he also has two daughters who are fine. For years they were looked after in a private hospital in Malaga but often escaped, usually after Antonio had bought them expensive clothes that they could sell for hard drugs.

I introduced Antonio to medical cannabis about two years ago, which he grows now legally in Spain under there personal usage policy, which he turns into cannabis oil which he prescribes to his sons. The outcome is his sons are now leading nearly normal lives in the community they live in. Buy Charlottes Web cannabis seeds and see the difference. If you cannot find them email at friendlyservice@pukkabudc.co.uk

The benefits of medical marijuana outweight the negatives..

Thats why forward thinking governments are alowing the trial and use of it.

Its ashame that Australia has slipped into the archaic unltra conservative "born to rule" type mentality. You only have to look at the deputy premiers comment sin Victoria to see how narrow minded and conservative as well as what Pukka saiys in regard to negativity when introducing such laws.

And lets be very clear...it is a natural herb that has beneifits for millions of people yet our governements choose to ban it... it used to be legal...

I can understand banning man made chemicals however to have prohibition on this is outright ridiculous
