Raising indoor under cfls... Flowering outdoor?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys... I would like to just to confirm something... If I start some plants indoor under my "250W CFL" and then transplant them outdoor during summer will they continue to veg or will they go into flower? I've had many mixed answers on this subject... Does anyone do this method aswell? This will allow me grow year round without the need of a big HPS system, as my power, and space allow...

And for records sake if anyone knows how much good vegging will I see from a single 250W cfl with a shade? At least 6 nodes?

Ive got some autoflowers that I would like to raise indoor for a bit until they are bit more hardier for the outdoor.. as my current outdoor autoflowers I started are stunted from our heat and stress....

Cheers! Smoky.

Not too sure about the first part but i've vegged two good 1m auto's inside with 8 nodes. Currently got 9 sets of nodes on my OG Kush which will go outdoor soon. Point being i'm only using a 130w CFL and it has done it's job up to this point.

Autos change to flower when the strain tells them, not when you change the light.

If you grow autos under a 18/6 light cfl/hid/led, once the get to the right age they will start to flower even under 18/6.

Most people I have seen the grow autos run them on 20/4 light.

If you grow then under light then put them out side, they will veg till there ready to change. Then they will change over to flower. You will just not get the most out of them.

I personally would grow them under light till they change then put them out side.

Great stuff. How long have you been in veg for for a 1m auto?.

I take back what I said, was only 0.8m of a metre. And i was in veg until it started to flower. What Chopper said is how it works. Varies by a week or so for some diffrent strains, super autos usually take a week or 2 longer on top of that. I'd say 3/4 weeks for vegging how ever I have NL and SS autos going right now and it was been over 4 weeks and they still haven't flowered! Not sure whats going on with them :s haha
