My God, talk about twisting statistics around to paint a picture much rosier than the reality.

 

So let me get this straight - 1 in 5 americans make a quarter million or more at some time in their lives, which is fuelling a surge of "mass luxury" products and services from premium Starbucks coffee and organic groceries to concierge medicine and VIP lanes at airports.

 

I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't say that someone is rich if their "luxury" items are coffee from starbucks, organic food, someone delivering prescription drugs to your house when you're sick, and being in the fast line to get on a bus in the sky.

 

How about saying it like it is - at some point in yoru life, you make more money than usual, but then you are raped by politicians and wall street, so taht you land right back where you were - with 1 in 6 people in the US getting handouts from teh government just to eat at night.

 

Bastards who own this newspaper should be shot for writing this kind of propaganda.

Bang on mate, and the gap in equity is only becoming larger. At worst, we need an overhaul of the Australian constitution and banking reform.

 

I'm still convinced that currency needs to go completely, but we are not intellectually or technologically advanced enough to pull it of. We need near unlimited energy to start, Fusion energy would be a good start; however all resources should be free. Water, electricity and basic housing; we are the only animals on the planet that pay to live here!

 

If you really are the coolest guy in Iceland, good on you. The Icelandic people have done amazing things, in terms of governmental reform, over the last 5 years. They peacefully protested for the resignation of the entire government, nationalised the bank, forced a referendum so the people could decide over the economy; had the parties responsible for their national bankruptcy INCARCERATED, including corporate bank-heads and members of government; then rewrote their own constitution. All done BY the people and it was barely touched, if at all, by mainstream media.
