Big outdoor autoflower "think different" in 50L pots.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys well thought I might start up a diary... Im germing 5  auto think different autoflowers...

they are having a 50L pots each!. They get very big for autoflowers and more room for  them, the merrier... I also will chuck in a dutch passion , mazar for good times like last year...

Has anyone got any experience the think different strain and what pot size you went?

Ill be happy with 100Gram yeid from each. lets see what we can get shall we?

I will be germing them straight into there final pots, 50L. The medium is 70%coco and 30% organic homegrown worm castings.
They will be fed with canna a+b.... When I see pre flowers I will swap them to canna bloom. They will also recieve a weeks dose of PK/13/14 along with their bloom at around week
7-8 .. for a finish at 12/13 weeks...

The weather in sydney hasn't been so great here, and not many days are full of sun so they are starting now. I may be a little bit late but lets just see how the weather holds up, they are autoflowers after all...

Pics coming soon! Stay tuned

I'd have to agree with crunk and say 100grm per plant off an auto flower is a bit ambitious grown outdoors but I'm sure looking forward to this grow to see and wish you all the best !

In my opinion it takes a few grows of the one strain to dial in autos , but hey you may nail it !

Again good luck watching with keen interest

I grew Think Differents at the start of the year in just standard 14 litre pots. It gave me a few issues for an auto and it went past 90 days from it being sativa dominant i thinks.

Anyway i am hating autos now..they are such a hit and miss. You either strike it lucky while doing nothing special at all or they just dont grow as much as they should and you end up puttiing in effort for 9 weeks for a shitty return of an ounce. When you add all the costs just stick to photo period plants and force flowering after 30 days of veg of you want to speed it up. Or stick to the big bud auto types which are fucken pricey per seed.

Even a SOG grow can be useless with autos.

hey mate sorry to hear you had a bad time with them.. May I ask outdoor or indoor? and how much did you yield? I personally have heard all good things from this strain and its massive yield potential for a semi / autoflower.  What kind of problems did you experience?

let the fun begin :)

The little pot is a dutch passion mazar... Strain is a KILLER smoke escpially the pheno I had which was very short, squat with massive indica leaning . It was some potent gear. It was too much for some people... I couldnt personally smoke it, gave me a panic attack. Including two of my other friends wouldnt touch it again for the same reason, They both ended up crying and these guys are not noob smokers.. Only for the experienced smokers this one... I did leave it for 2 weeks extra longer. The body feeling was tottally narcotic almost like the harry which you honestly couldn't feel your limbs!. The plant last year threw off one seed with no other males around so Im suspecting and have a good chance to get the same pheno again. Not very common to get that one but the dutch passion forums a few have striked lucky and I was one of them out of 30 seeds!

I have two of the think different seeds in one of those 50L pots... Local store ran out of pots but I will transplant when they restock it sometime this week.

I am feeding with canna A+B pussy strength at the moment.  I have some home grown worm castings within the coco.  I will be aiming for 100+grams per plant which is not impossible.

When they finish I will run another 5 think differents again, Might be able to squeeze some just before winter hits.

Also thinking of chucking in a early skunk fem from sensi seeds. Reason I didnt start that strain is because of the potent smell and the vigirous growth. I may however do it now as It wont get that huge as winters not far away. Still Undecided if its worth it.

Stay tuned guys!

Early Skunk... flowering should commence at about a week or 2 into January (at least in northern Vic, further north a bit earlier, further south a bit later).

With 35% sativa background, E. Skunk is one of those plants that gives it's best yield when allowed a decent veg period. So personally, I think starting now would be a waste of seed, but if you only have space for diminutive plants, go for it.

But don't expect the advertised XXL yield from a small plant, they need to finish over 1.5m to get start getting the mileage out of the sativa background.

Indoor and a bit of outdoor to take advantage of the strong sun.

Well it didn't give me major issues it's just with autos to get maximum or advertised yield you need to grow them in massive pots. Anything smaller than 30 litres you are just wasting your time unless you expect half an ounce. Even with small pots and SOG unless you're using 600 - 1000 HPS the bud size is small.  I dont know how people can grow autos in small pots, spend a couple of months in effort and then get tiny yields. Just use a normal photo period and force flowering after 30 days and wait that little bit extra for 50% more yeilds.

You should get a nice yield with those pots as i use similar. Add more coco and fill it to the top. You will loose coco as you water.

Autos love LST.
