Flowering with 13+ hr of sun light

Recommended Posts

Hey Jas, you'll be happy to know you are not alone.  I've had the same thing this season with both seed plants and clones, some I've been able to make sense of, others not, and it is far from ideal but that's mother nature for you.

Clones from a mature mother plant will tend to flower quicker and easier than  seed plants, especially if the mother has been in flower at some stage.  Another problem can be plants coming from 16+hrs of indoor lighting to less hrs outdoors tending to go into flower as well.  Some strains will also be more inclined than others.

In theory your clone should revert to veg, but there's no absolute guarantee.  We are approaching summer soltice or whatever it's called, and I still have 2 that are very much staying in flower, both clones as well, and a seed plant that can't seem to make up her mind.  One thing you could try, particularly if she's not too far into flowering, is get some solar spotlights and put around her.  They come on for a few hrs once the light drops enough and can be enough to switch the plant back to veg, seems to be working for one of mine.  Or if it's at home, bring it in every night under lights for a few hrs.

Good luck

I've had similar issues from seed, and there are a couple of others I've seen post similar - I think it's the funny weather we have had, in Sydney at least it was hot and dry then wet and cold, plants don't know what is going on. It's other plants having issues too I'm finding, so really think that is the answer. In any case I've got some more seeds spouted over the weekend to compensate for the crappy plants thus far, hope they veg for a little while before they flower.

Unless they are auto's, they will reveg as the light hours increase........... :greedy:

I think the longest daylight day is around 22nd december, which is now

and the total light per day is around 14 hours

so will any plant thats growing outdoors stop vegging and flower up now?

Ive only every grown indoors where i can control photo period
